Arizona Qualifier

Woo Hoo!!! We won in Arizona! I'm so glad we won. I can't wait until we go to ASA/JO Olympic Nationals. I loved the way it was so intense. The joy of having our berth to nationals is one of the greatest feelings I have ever had. Our team played outstanding the whole time. Once we stepped foot on that field until we were off, we worked as a team and I loved it. Our bats were on the whole weekend and our defense was great. On Saturday we played 2 games. Game one we were down 3-1 going into the 6Th inning. we battled and tied it up. after the seventh inning we had to go into ITB (International Tie Breaker) both teams scored in that ITB to keep the game tied at 4-4. So we proceeded into double ITB. That is where we opened it up scoring 8 unanswered runs and winning the game 12-4. in the second game of the day we had to play another Cali team called Valley Tribe. We were scoreless after 7 innings so again we had to go to ITB. We scored 4 runs to end the game 4-0. On Sunday we were in the champ game because we were undefeated. We came out the gate hitting and scored 2. Our defense held them scoreless and we won 2-0. OUR team out scored our opponents 18-4 in 3 games with Our pitcher Olivia throwing 2 shut out games. Nationals is going to be great I can already feel it. We are going to be a very strong team, I can't wait until Nationals we are getting stronger every time we play. BOMB SQUAD PRIDE!!!!!! YOU KNOW!!!!!

One step closer to my dream of attending UCLA

On February 20, 2010 my family and I went to the UCLA tournament. My Catching instructor Jennifer Schroeder got us into the games on the VIP List. She also hooked us up with a tour of the locker room. She arranged for Amy Crawford, a junior at UCLA to take us inside the locker room and clubhouse. She introduced me to some of the players and coaches. While there i met the assistant coach, former U.S.A. Olympian and UCLA player Lisa Fernandez. I was talking to her, even though I was nervous and shy about it. I saw how much fun the girls were having and i was thinking in my head how much i was looking forward to hopefully being in the same locker room as a player some day. I enjoyed talking to Lisa and I'm excited that she is going to be keeping an eye out for me on the field. My experience was great and watching those girls play and going inside the locker room reminded me why i am always getting off my butt to go practice and play everyday.

Seeking Donations for ASA Nationals in Indiana

Hi my name is Melissa Garcia, I’m 12 years old. I play travel softball currently I am a catcher with a team called Bomb Squad 97. Bomb Squad and I are going to the 2010 ASA Nationals this summer. Unfortunately it is going to be very hard for my family and I to raise the money to go, especially because Nationals is going to be in Indiana. That is the reason why I am asking you for Donations to help support me fulfilling my dream, and Nationals is a step towards my dream. Eventually my dream is to attend and play softball as a catcher for UCLA.I am asking for any assistance getting to this stage of my softball career. I know if you help me get to the goal of raising around 4,000 dollars; I will appreciate your help. You can keep track of all updates here at the top of my page is a total raised/need

We have also set up a PayPal account that is directly linked to my national’s savings account to make things easier visit http://www.paypal.com and send donations to annagarcia1979@gmail.com. The account is all set up through my mom as she is the adult. But rest assured all the money sent to that PayPal will be transferred into my account immediately

Thank you very much in advance for any assistance you are able to provide.

New Coaching

Melissa is now being trained by a 4 time USA Softball Olympian. The only woman to go 4 times Laura Berg. Melissa met her when she attended the Jennie Finch Softball Camp in January. It has been great ever since. They are working hard and we hope to see the fruit of their labors soon.

A truely Hard Choice.

We are now a part of a great orginization called No Fear 96. They are out of Downey. There are many positives to this team. They are close to home and they stress the teaching of the game.
